I picked up Slavoj iek’s The Year Of Dreaming Dangerously. The introduction contains the following sentence:
The second half of the book deals with the two great emancipatory movements of 2011the Arab Spring and Occupy Wall Streetbefore confronting, via a discussion of The Wire, the difficult question of how to fight the system without contributing to its enhanced functioning.
My syndicate is giving a away a few large signed prints of my work over on their blog. To grab one, you have to write a little thing in their comments section about gun laws.
Then in non-free signed print news, the Portland newspaper Street Roots is auctioning of a signed print of one of my most popular cartoons to raise money for their publication.
I’ll be debuting the Avenging Uterus animation this Saturday at Backfence PDX’s benefit for the IPRC along with a story from my sordid past. Backfence is live storytelling event run by Frayn Masters (voice of the Avenging Uterus) and the theme of the evening is “The Graphic Details,” featuring three storytellers who dabble in comics. For those of you not in the Portland area, worry not! The Avenging Uterus animation will be online next week, but you’ll have to make it down to Backfence to hear my story, which will not be made available to the internet in order to preserve my reputation as an upstanding citizen and professional drawing person.
Jake Tapper of ABC News spoke recently at the AAEC convention in DC. Tapper was an aspiring political cartoonist before moving on to a better career choice. Here’s his drawing of Obama from that night.

I met Egyptian cartoonist Samir Abd Elghany last week. He drew this picture of me with a very flattering hairline.
An Avenging Uterus animation is nearing completion. Here’s a look at a frame.

If you are at the DNC convention this week and find yourself exhausted from all speeches about helping the working class, stop by “The Huffington Post Oasis” for a massage from an unpaid worker.
I’m not even going to block quote this National Review column because I don’t even know which lines to select.
Here’s a look at the originals for the Avenging Uterus/Pussy Riot comic from this week as well as another uterus-related comic from a few months ago. The Avenging Uterus will certainly return to combat douchebags at some point, so here’s your chance to grab an early strip. These are on 8.5×11 bristol board and go for $200. If you’d like either of them, shoot me an email to arrange shipping.

From my current bathroom reading, the Too Much Coffee Man Omnibus.
Ahhhh, paper.
