Archive for Afghanistan Trip

Kickstarter

I meant to mention this a week or so ago, but Ted Rall’s Kickstarter fundraiser for the Afghanistan trip I went on, where he successfully raised over $25,000, was listed as one of their top ten projects for 2010.

Such a success may inspire future projects…

Afghan Life: Money

Today the last installment of my Afghanistan series is up over at Cartoon Movement. The previous chapters are here. That does it for the Afghanistan trip, I think.

Afghan Life: Dogs

Today the fifth installment of my Afghanistan series is up over at Cartoon Movement. The previous chapters are here.

Afghan Life: Elections

Today the fourth installment of my Afghanistan series is up over at Cartoon Movement. The previous chapters are here.

Afghan Life: Kabul

Today the third installment of my Afghanistan series is up over at Cartoon Movement along with the syndicated strips I did. The first two chapters are here and here.

Afghan Life: Burqas

Today the second installment of my Afghanistan series is up over at Cartoon Movement. This one focuses on my (non) interaction with women along with all the sketchbook material I made.

Afghan Life

Today is the launch of Cartoon Movement, a platform for international editorial cartoons and comics journalism. I’ve joined the team of Dutch editorial cartoonist Tjeerd Royaards and Brit digital marketing man Ric Bottomley to be the Comics Journalism Editor.

We seek to publish four editorial cartoons a week and one piece of comics journalism a month. Lots of stuff is in the works. For now, go check out my comic!

KBOO Interview

I was interviewed yesterday on Words and Pictures at Portland’s community radio station KBOO along with Ted Rall. We talked about our new books, but mostly the Afghanistan trip. The segment that aired is here along with an additional 45 minute discussion for the internet where we get into some funny stories about the trip.

Grounded

I wanted to have some conclusion to the Afghanistan strips in syndication so here’s the final one. It’s back to American politics next week, but I am working on a series of longer comics for a website that will be released in early November. What a trip.

Americans in their own words

Hi there.  I just read your comic Afghans in their own words.  If these are the real words of the Afghan peopl then I would hope that you are educating them on the truth.

Yes Pres. Obama was raised a Muslim. Yes he claims to be a Christian but his life does not reflect Biblical truth.  Christians do not believe in abotion and they especially do not vote against a measure that would allow doctors to perfom life saving techniques to save a baby who had survived an abortion.

Christian do not believe that Homesexuality is natural.  President Obama does. Christians would not be freinds with un-repentant terrorists. Christains do not believe in Socialism.  They see it as enslavement.

I hope that you are teaching the Afghan people these truths about our president whom is the least qualified president ever elected.  I hope that you are teaching them that a president whoim tramples on the rights of his own people is no better then the Taliban.

“No better than the Taliban.” All I do is give voice to the people.
