Two Cartoons

Real quick. Seems like we need to point out this Michael Ramirez cartoon employing lynching imagery to attack Al Sharpton over the George Zimmerman verdict. We could get into the mindset that intentionally wants to upset minorities, but let's just stick with analyzing the metaphor. Al Sharpton is the immobile tree who had the bodies tied to him by racist lynchers... so how is he responsible? Also, I always get a kick out of political cartoonists who characterize "politics" itself as inherently bad. Politics is what Detroit needs--good politics. Particularly the kind of politics that don't ship jobs overseas, shut down public services, and are resistant to raising taxes on the rich.
