Jack Ohman to the Sacramento Bee
There aren’t too many hires these days so it’s good to know some papers are still willing to fill positions for editorial cartoonists. Now, will The Oregonian hire another?
Damn Cartoons
All the panels and talks from this year’s AAEC convention are now online at the Damn Cartoons site. There’s a lot of good cartoonists doing talks on there: Jen Sorensen, Brian McFadden, Patrick Chappatte, Tom Toles, as well as me and Susie Cagle talking comics journalism.
Jake Tapper of ABC News was our keynote address, who once aspired to be a political cartoonist. Jake explains how he came to speak for us that night , which began with me haranguing him on Twitter. Finally, cartoonist Rex Babin died this year and Jack Ohman delivered a moving eulogy for him on the last night. Towards the end he has a few thoughts about cartooning as well.
