Slut-shamers unaware of how vaginas work

One thing became painfully clear as Rush Limbaugh, Bill O'Reilly, and others denigrated Sandra Fluke for having reproductive capability: beyond the ugly slut-shaming spewing forth from their mouths, these men actually have no idea how their wives, ex-wives, and mistresses manage to not continually pop out children. The level of self-absorption and disinterest in women necessary to never once, over the course of multiple marriages and trips to sex tourism spots with Viagra in your bag, figure out how they prevent you from having a child to care for is astonishing. Here's an actual comment on my Facebook page after I posted the simple question "Who in the GOP thought an entire month of attacking women was going to work out well?" To review, the last few weeks of debate has gone from religious exemptions for birth control, to contraception itself, to women being sluts that have too much sex, to adult men not knowing how a vagina works. The GOP is doing serious damage to their brand with this one so I hope they keep it up! And can we talk about this cartoon from Gary McCoy? It should win the Pulitzer prize in misogyny. It fails on all levels: horrible politics, horrible drawing, puritanical slut-shaming – the joke is even poorly constructed with redundant wording. But the level of misogynist vitriol directed at Fluke is kind of breathtaking. Fluke has an average build. It's completely warped to depict her as a fat slut monster. Even if she were heavier and unattractive, it would be out of bounds, but as it is it's a lie that speaks more to the mindset of the cartoonist and his problem with women.  You wonder how a man could have a mother, wife, or sister and ever draw something this foul.
