Each Black Friday becomes a more violent melee than the year before it, with massive tramplings, fist fights, murder, and mace.

The media’s breathless reports on people amassing simply to buy products not only amplifies and hypes these events even further, but glorifies the hordes of consumers as if buying crap made in China at big box stores is helping the economy.

I’m a staunch atheist and I feel sad how Jesus’ birthday party has been turned into competitive bloodlust for midnight deals on electronics.
