I Love This Congress
Ian Thompson over at the Blog of Rights tipped me off to an important resolution introduced Tuesday and passed unanimously in the House Thursday "Honoring Toby Keith’s commitment to members of the Armed Forces."
I know Congress spends most of their time renaming post offices and the like, but Toby Keith? Really? The resolution celebrates how "few, if any, performers have traveled to such remote and dangerous military bases with Toby Keith’s frequency."
No word from Congress on when Mr. Keith will no longer need to do USO tours in Iraq and Afghanistan.

But when can I celebrate Lee Greenwood day? I need to proudly STAND UP, then sit back down again.
Oh, for fuck's sake! I keep a list of people I'd like to punch in the face, and Toby's in the top five. (Actually, I'd make an exception and shove something up his ass, Guantanamo Bay style, which he seems so keen on.)
Brian - Lee Greenwood Day is every day. At least, if you are in a bar with a bad jukebox it is.
It should noted that despite his hick leanings, Toby Keith actually supports Obama.
Toby Keith's music sounds like it was written by a moderately-talented 12-year-old.
